I love this frosting. It makes such a delicious change from your standard buttercream and the silky smooth texture created by the addition of the sour cream is so welcome in my mouth! Because I created this flavour using the FreshAs Raspberry Powder, you could use any flavour of your choice in combination with the sour cream and it would be equally as delicious.
Raspberry Sour Cream Frosting
1.5 C icing sugar (+ more if required)
110g unsalted butter, softened
2 t FreshAs Raspberry powder
3 T sour cream
Optional: Raspberry flavoured essence*
Mix together icing sugar and butter until they are blended and creamy.
Add the raspberry powder, and mix until well combined. Add sour cream and beat until smooth and creamy.
You can add more icing sugar if you require a stiffer consistency (depending on choice of your frosting method).
* If you would like a stronger flavoured frosting, you can add 1/2 teaspoon of raspberry essence.
