This week, just like the last, has absolutely flown by!
There’s been a lot going on, mostly good things, but a few late nights and middle of the night wakings with cold children and I’m ready for the weekend – an extra pair of hands and all that.
My favourites this week are as follows:
1. I’ve rediscovered one of my all time favourite lippys – Faux by MAC. I only know about this colour since I won it in an Instagram giveaway about a year ago – apparently it’s Kylie Jenner’s favourite colour. Wonder if Caitlin wears it now too? Anyway, it’s the perfect neutral with a hint of pink. It’s pretty matte and feels like the colour to wear when you want something on but don’t know what to choose. I love it. Adore it even. I’m glad I found it hiding out in the bottom of one of my handbags!
2. This kid. I mean he’s not my favourite child because every parent knows you can’t have one of those, but he’s been so much fun this week. He’s at a wonderful age where so much seems to just happen all at once. He’s trying to say words and has a cute wee voice to match. His favourites are shoes, keys, and cheese – which he asks for allllll day long. I wish he’d start to say yes, but instead as his affirmative he just bobs up and down with a goofy grin on his face. He only started properly walking around 14 months and suddenly he thinks running suits him better. He’s constantly wiping out around the house, but picks himself up pretty quick and carries on. Two nights ago he started playing indoor soccer with his Daddy and weirdly, everytime he approaches the ball to kick it, he tucks his hands behind his back before kicking. We tested him several times, but absolutely every time he would tuck his hands back and then kick. We have no idea where he’s learnt that and I’m 100% convinced it’s innate. Maybe we have a future Beckham in our midst? This was one of my favourite photos from a recent photoshoot he did for the new Merino range for The Sleep Store.
3. We’re back on the House of Cards Buzz. We’re a little late to Season 3 but we’re loving it. It’s such a dark and gloomy series, but strangely addictive. Not in the same way we got hooked on Breaking Bad or the obsession I currently have with Nashville, but it reels you in somehow. The acting is brilliant and Kevin Spacey who has always been one of my favourite actors is just perfect in the lead role. Robin Wright is amazing as the first lady and if you’re not already a fan, I can highly recommend this show.
4. The weather this week has been amazing. Amazingly cold, but beautifully sunny. I would give anything to have no rain so the chill is welcome to me. In a bid to lift our spirits indoors I have been diffusing a combination of Lime and Citrus Bliss essential oils. They smell beautiful on their own, but combined the fragrance is intoxicatingly fresh and so pleasant. Three drops of each lasts all day and makes our living area smell delicious.
I hope you have a great weekend planned. We’re off to meet some friends at the park tomorrow, and then spending time with both sides of the family on Sunday.
Enjoy and see you next week.
