Having children is my favourite achievement to date (most likely ever!), and the love I feel for them is likely much the same as any of you reading who also have children. I adore them (most of the time), I tell them 1000 times a day how much I love them and squeeze and smooch them too many times for their liking. Which is all well and good and I do not regret that overwhelming need to lavish them with love in the slightest… but I am very much convinced that it’s this abundance of affection that has seen the lines around my lips increase a million-fold since their arrival into my world. Similarly the crazy funny things they say and do or sweet little moments that we share throughout the day give way to spontaneous smiles that has meant my crows feet and fine lines have also multiplied out of control.
Thanks to a few friends in high places, I have rounded up a nice little collection of some of the best products on the market designed to combat these problem areas for women in a similar situation as myself. Allow me to bring you my Fine Lines Assassination Attempt!
Next year I will be the big 4-0 and though I’ve always been pretty good when it comes to a skincare routine, wearing SPF and taking care of my skin by always removing make up before sleeping and so on, I feel like my skin is changing and what feels like my swift approach to the next decade of life requires a new level of attention.
In order to best conduct this wee experiment, I am going to trial these eye creams over a two week period before coming to any conclusions. I am going to do them in tandem, meaning that for each two-week period, I will be using a separate product on my left eye to my right eye. I figure this will also allow me to determine differences between them.
My round up includes a combination of natural and science based products and formulations varying from oils to serums to traditional creams. I am testing brands that are all readily available in New Zealand, either direct from the company websites or easily accessible retailers such as Farmers.
I will review each product as I go, highlighting each products pros and cons and then will complete a total full round up at the end.
I’d love to hear your feedback if you’ve tried any of these, or have another product you simply can’t live without for these particular areas of the face.
