My baby is officially 18 months old today. I know you’re sick of me saying it alllll the freakin’ time, but honestly and seriously…. WHERE DOES THE TIME GO? How does it go so fast!?
After I posted this photo earlier this week on Instagram of my kids attempting Bubble Painting someone commented that I now have three children and no baby and it was all too obvious in that one image. My baby is no longer. He’s got a gigantic vocabularly, can expertly insert the Hey and Ho in the right place in the Lumineers’ song Hey Ho (funnily enough!) although we dig the Lennon & Maisy version from Nashville, and he flat out refuses to accept assistance in any way when eating or drinking – even though feeding himself soup for example is totally out of his realms of capability.
I’m kinda pissed at the weather right now… there’s been some amazing sunshiney days this week and I’ve had my legs out, heck yesterday I hung basketloads of laundy whilst wearing only a shoestring singlet, that’s how warm it was at mine. And as luck (or unluck if you will) would have it, for the first time in literally months, my 4 year old wet the bed last night. No sooner had we stripped off his bed, reassembled it and gotten him showered and into fresh PJ’s but I lay my weary head down on the pillow and heard the first fall of rain hit my roof. Seriously…. why!? Why could today not be a repeat of yesterday’s brilliant bright sparkly sunshine, deodorising, germ killing solar power in full effect to help me get my sheets + mattress protector + plush snuggly mattress cover all dry. And before you sing the praises of Brolly Sheets – I know. We have just not needed them for months so they’ve been safely tucked away for number 3 who I’m hoping will toilet train himself night and day without any accidents or nonsense because that stubborn-ness has to be put to good use somehow – right!?
I’ve become super sidetracked with my rant above, so without further ado, allow me to share with my favourites for Friday 18th September:
We are extraordinarily late to the party it transpires, but Homeland done got me hoooooked! I am obsessed. I know I’ve said that before about Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Nashville & Outlander, but I think this one is up there. The addiction is strong. To the point where I spend time during my day thinking about Brodie, about Carrie, and Abu Nazir. Because I’m so late to it, you may have already watched it, but in the small event that you haven’t, I implore you to get your fix. If you love thrill and suspense and conspiracy theories, and you like to snuggle up with your partner and watch TV, you will love this show because it’s one you can get into together. Check it out on Lightbox now! Apparently Season 5 is about to start next month in the USA, so we got some binge-watching ahead!
I was so incredibly spoilt to receive some gorgeous Ecoya products on my doorstep last week and my new favourite fragrance is the With Love which is a White Musk and Warm Vanilla scent. I haven’t even lit the thing and my entire living area smells amazing. I love Ecoya for the reason that their fragrances are truly magical, but the fact that you can just lift the lid off the vessel and be intoxicated – that’s perfection right there. I love to give Ecoya as gifts to special girlfriends – it’s one of those items that feels so luxurious to me and I love to give as well as receive luxurious presents. My other favourite scent is the Lotus Flower but this one, you have to smell it! I promise you will fall in love too!
If your bench top is anything like mine, there is not enough room for everything that wants to live there. My current bug bear is the sprawling mass of vitamins and supplements overcrowing what was my jug space. Since getting a new oven and losing the power points that were on either side of the oven itself, I have relocated the jug and now that space has been overtaken with Vitamin C x 4, my doTERRA supplements, Probiotics for the kids, Pamol bottle and something I bought about a month ago but have only just started taking regularly – this GO Hair Skin Nails Liquid. It’s a comprehensive formula, rich in Silica and Vitamin C and is designed to assist in the production of Collagen. The long and short of it is that the combination of these essential nutrients improve beauty and vitality from within, helping to nourish, strengthen and protect your hair, skin and nails. I have always taken a Skin Hair and Nails formula after the birth of each of my babies to prevent hair loss and for me it’s never been an problem. I can’t say whether it’s because I took something, but I know that this new liquid formula is even more awesome because I can just add it to my smoothies!
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll see that I now drink coffee. Not so regularly, maybe three times a week and I love that I can control how small and weak I can make my own brew. It’s crazy right – most people are all about how strong they can get their coffee, but not me. I’ve been enjoying a couple of different varieties after my first visit to the Nespresso store in Newmarket but I really love these two new releases – the Tribute to Milano and the Tribute to Palermo. They both taste especially delicious with a nice pour of Lewis Road Creamery Vanilla Milk on top!
I have a beautifully busy Saturday ahead of me and I can’t wait… hair appointment in the morning, followed by a workshop with the amazingly talented Unna of The Forest Cantina who I can not wait to meet in person, and then prizegiving for my husband’s Auckland Referees, followed by a housewarming. Oh yes, I am going to need alll of Sunday to sleep! Or maybe to lay in bed and watch Homeland. Think I can make that happen? haha, not likely!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend x
