I am ordinarily a foaming face-wash kind of girl. A double-cleanse followed by eye make up remover and I finally feel like I’ve properly removed all my make up and my skin is ready for night time moisturisation and beauty sleep.
I have tried coconut oil pure, oil cleansers and cream cleansers in my time, but it’s always a foaming one I come back to.
But I’m also a big fan of Trilogy products, so when I got my hands on this little pot of gold, a cleansing balm, I couldn’t wait to see if it would do everything it claimed it could.
Following the directions for use, I scooped up 1/4 teaspoon’s worth and rubbed it over my face while taking my night time shower. The smell of it was enough to make me fall in love in a nano-second – a heavenly blend of ylang ylang, freesia and cedarwood. Given my extreme love for essential oils, this combination sent me to straight to paradise, a luxurious sensory treat.
I massaged the balm over my entire face with gentle motions and the enjoyed the way it melted into my skin. I could actually feel it dissolving my make-up. Taking a warm wet face cloth, I then wiped over my face and could literally see make up washed off, including lipstick and mascara. The resulting feeling is incredible. My skin was soft, silken smooth and plump, hydrated by the rich blend of plant oils – a powerful trifecta of coconut, sunflower and rosehip and deliciously lush mango butter.
You can leave it at that and slip between the sheets, or continue with your regular night time moisturiser if desired.
This product has a RRP of $38.90 and comes with its own sustainably produced, unbleached, Turkish organic cotton cloth.
The new Trilogy Make-Up Be Gone Cleansing Balm is a product I see being in my life for a long while yet.
