I was so excited to be asked to review WOOP recently. I’d seen it on social media and was intrigued by the name. WOOP stands for World On Our Plate. Similar in concept to the My Food Bag or Farro Foodkit, this service is what I would call Gourmet. With two options to choose from you can feed either two or four adults and each weeks box provides you with three amazing meals.
Many of the ingredients have been pre-prepared which means that from woe to go, you have a gourmet meal on your table in 15-20 minutes. Recipe cards are provided with beautiful photos to refer to when plating up (at least that’s what I liked to do),
Check out this video and read everything you need to know about how WOOP works, including answers to any questions you might have. Simply put, WOOP meals are made using only the best quality, specialty produce that is 100% natural, free range and local, with no added nasties or preservatives so they taste amazing.
My box was delivered on a Sunday evening and was beautifully presented. Everything was shrink-wrapped and bagged according to meals and easy to follow instructions and recipe cards were also provided. I got excited every day about cooking each of the three meals waiting for me in the fridge and am a little disheartened that my WOOP experience is over for now.
I don’t usually cook two separate meals for my family (one for the Mr and I, one for the kids) but I was more than happy to do that this week. I think also because there is literally a 15-20 expectation of the preparation for the WOOP meal, it didn’t ever feel like I overextending myself to create two separate meals.
Each meal is representative of a particular city or region in the world and I loved this extra awareness, and experience of cooking and eating food from other cultures – flavours and ingredients that I possibly may not have put together myself. Plenty of variety and so much fresh produce and exceptional quality meat/fish/chicken.
We enjoyed Fresh Salmon topped with Creamy Dill and Caper Sauce, Asparagus and Buttered Potatoes, Woop’s own Harissa Paste Marinated Chicken served on Preserved Lemon & Green Olive Couscous and Woop’s own Smoked Venison, Pumpkin, Beetroot & Carrot Salad with Golden Sultana, Orange and Oregano Dressing. I’ve never cooked venison before but the instructions were detailed and specific and my Venison was perfectly medium rare.
This service runs a little more expensive than the aforementioned ones, but I mean it when I say that it felt like we were eating restaurant quality food these past three nights. It is definitely a service I would look to order for a busy week or for a special occasion. And an extra special incentive of this service is the introduction of a completely Gluten Free option now.
If you want to know any more or to try WOOP for yourself, visit their website here and until the end of November, you can enjoy $25 off your first order by using the code: BUBBALINO25. This code is applicable to the WOOP Family and Couple regular boxes, and for the Gluten-Free boxes as well.
Thank you so much WOOP for letting me experience your beautiful service and top quality menus. I’m sold! Woop Woop, we loved it!
