We recently returned from a fabulous 8 night holiday in Rarotonga. It’s our second time visiting this beautiful little island and the reason for this visit during the rainy season (which is possibly not the time you would choose to travel to the Pacific) was my youngest brothers wedding to his Polynesian Princess on Valentine’s Day.
The last time we visited was July 2011, again for a wedding, but at that time my little Aston was a tiny 7 months old and Tahlia had only just turned 2. It was a fun trip, but most of it was spent laying low for baby naps and keeping things pretty lax to accommodate the little people. When my brother and his fiance announced they would be returning to her homeland to celebrate their wedding, our entire family was looking forward to the chance for an island getaway. We were also excited to have the chance to return with older children and my entire family to boot – family time to the max and babysitters galore!
I have a few posts to bring you sharing some must-do’s on the island and my favourites from our trip, so they’ll be rolling out over the next few days. Highlights included an incredible massage, spending the day at a resort poolside with a delicious iced-coffee, an afternoon to myself to enjoy an amazing body scrub complete with a Vichy shower, eating at local establishments, trying new fruits for the first time, hanging out with family at different spots all over the tiny island, snorkelling face to face with a moray eel and showing my kids the magic of the land under the sea, and a date day with my husband to picturesque Aitutaki. There is so much to share. Hold tight. I have lots of tips for those of you who were wanting to know more or are heading to Raro soon. We are back from Paradise and I can’t wait to share with you Rarotonga in a nutshell.
But for now, here’s a few of my favourite photos from our time away.
I’ll be back…
