I’d never call myself a fashionista, but I do love fashion and I do like shopping, so following personal stylist Chasing Cait on Instagram for the past year has been nothing short of inspiring. I love her style, I love how daring she is, but how chic she always looks. I love that her style is affordable but looks expensive and I love her bold wearing of prints, colour and statement necklaces.
I’ve been entertaining the idea of a Capsule Wardrobe for a while now after reading several international and a couple of local blogs on the subject. I don’t like the idea of removing most of the items from my closet, but I absolutely love the idea of never feeling like I have “nothing to wear” and the ease and time-save it would be to have a collection of basics and essentials that I adore and know look amazing on me.
Cait invited me to one of her Finding Your Style Workshops over the weekend and it was so much fun. I learnt a bunch of things and it really covered off the Capsule Wardrobe concept that I’ve been exploring of late.
Caitlin is an expert in her field and knows her stuff. She has over 20 years experience in the fashion industry and has worked for and with brands ranging from Sacha Drake in Australia, Trelise Cooper, Max Fashions, Ezibuy and Portmans here in NZ.
The sessions are relaxed and intimate and held at her home. I attended with a small group of ladies of all of different ages, different body shapes and sizes and styles. We were each provided with a workbook and pen to complete interactive exercises and to take notes that were relevant to each of us from the three modules covered off. We were served a glass of bubbles which never goes amiss in calming nerves and helping one settle into their seats when it comes time to answer personal questions and we all took many things away from our three hour session, as well as gorgeous goodie bag packed with beautiful beauty products, including a gorgeous necklace that I wore out that very evening.
I have one double pass to giveaway (for you + a friend) to the next Finding Your Style Workshop (valued at $220 per ticket). This will be held on March 6 2016. You must be Auckland based, or able to get to Auckland to attend in order to enter. It’s a wonderful way to spend an afternoon with your bestie and learn some amazing things about your body and how to dress it to suit you. Head to my FB page to enter.
