Ever have those days where you just wanna come home and put on your fat pants? I’ve been feeling a lot like that the past few weeks. And some mornings I don’t want to take my PJ’s off either to leave the house.
But leave the house I must… at least twice a day for school drop off and pick up, and usually times in between too so thankfully I have found 5 items of clothing from Cotton on Body that I look forward to dressing in almost daily.
These pieces are taking me from frumpy and comfy to comfy and stylish in a matter of minutes. Each of them specifically conceal an area of concern on my body and make me ignore or forget about it thanks to sheer comfort, bright uplifting pops of colour and flattering cuts!
Let me share with you my 5 fat pants winners in case you’re after similarly functional, affordable pieces for your Winter wardrobe.
First up – pants! Now, I know they say that leggings should not be worn as pants, and for the most part, unless you have thighs like J-Lo, I wholeheartedly agree. Though I have not been blessed with thighs like miss Jenny-from-the-block, I think that there is a way to wear them as pants, so long as your butt is covered! We’ll get to clever ways to achieve these, but for now, let’s get back to the pants. The Active Printed Core 7/8 Pants actually come full length on me since I’m so short (5ft2″), so although this isn’t necessarily the most flattering length on me – I prefer more a capri length – they are perfect for colder days like the ones we’re living in now. My favourite feature of these pants is the high waist, and not just a high waist that kind of squelches everything in. These pants are so comfortable and fit so nicely thanks to their wide flat waistband. Plus, the improved print opacity means you can bend over with confidence. I like that! I grabbed these pants in two colour-ways and each of them are equally as loved. Bright and colourful or monochrome, I choose which to wear according to my mood – or let’s be honest, which ones are washed, folded and back in my drawer!
My next pick is theGym Tee which comes in a wide range of colours, and stripes. This relaxed fit tee with added body length suits both workout and fashion in one. The ultra soft breathable fabric is floaty, not clingy, which is a must when you’re dealing with lumps and bumps like many of us Mama’s are. It features a round neckline and scooped back hem which works perfectly to cover up that booty we were talking about earlier.
Now when it comes to long sleeve options, I chose two, and for different reasons. The first is the Long-Sleeve Gym Tee. It is the perfect layering item and features thumbholes to keep your arms cosy for early morning walks, or cold Winters days. The same scooped neckline means this fits nicely over the short sleeved version and it has the same curved hem for extra butt-coverage. I love this top, again it’s lightweight fabric is not clingy, but it just somehow drapes effortlessly without being too baggy.
The Soft Touch Crew is actually part of Cotton On Body’s Loungewear collection and with just one touch of this garment you will understand why. You may think this looks like any old grey sweatshirt, but I promise you, everytime I wear this (which is often) I get asked where it’s from and complimented on it. I’ve worn it with a leather mini skirt and boots, with these leggings (obviously), with jeans, with my PJ pants. And it seems truly at home with any outfit. It is super soft, it is extra long in the body, has ribbed cuffs and waistband and just works with everything. It comes in three colours and I think I might have to return instore to pick up the others. It’s my go to sweater of this season.
I’m loving these five pieces from Cotton on Body. Besides the gorgeous patterns and colours and soft comfortable fabrics, I am so grateful for stylish clothing that has me looking like I’m going to be taking it for a run, but can equally carry me around town all day running errands in comfort. That’s running too though right?
