It was a chilly Winter’s morning in Auckland City but the sun was out and Daddy was booked in for a surprise massage (his job’s been pretty full on lately so I thought I’d treat him to a little luxury) at his favourite spa on Jervois Road. We escaped the house at 9am, loaded the car with the big kids scooters and Beau’s bike + helmets, as well as snacks and water bottles and after dropping an unsuspecting Shane off for an hour of pampering, we jaunted down College Hill to the Victoria Park Skate Park.
I made the kids sit for a few pics before letting them loose on the asphalt first though. Being the kid of an #instamama must be pretty tough sometimes, but they’re pretty obliging.
That bright morning sunshine and golden light hit all the right places and their MacPac jackets kept them toasty as anything as they reluctantly refrained from getting their limbs moving on the half pipes. Ha, kidding… these kids are total novices. They love being at the park and watching all the talent around them, I just need to give them more opportunities to experiment with speed and slopes and they’ll be away laughing. Some of the talent at this place is unreal – tiny kids with zero fear and amazing skill, I spend the entire time I’m there just marvelling at the magic.
Macpac has the perfect puffer jacket for kids to battle the elements this Winter, whether you’re hitting the snow or just spending time outside on chilly mornings like we were. Trying to decide which style and type of jacket for your child can be a little overwhelming though, if you’re anything like me, so here’s a link to a guide of how to choose the best puffer for your kid. This will give you the lowdown on everything from down vs synthetic, the warmth levels, the outer material, to the shape and what is best to keep the little ones extra snug.
The jackets are available instore now and online starting at just $109.99.
* we were gifted our MacPac puffer jackets and truly love them.
