I am a pretty lazy housewife, truth be told. Most chores are my least favourite. I own a Shark Navigator and while I like it when I use it, the thought of lugging it out of the cupboard, switching it on and heaving it around a small portion of my home before having to unplug it and re-plug it a few metres away is enough to make me avoid the necessity.
I have long dreamed of owning a cordless vac, one that can be whipped out for post-meal tidying and a quick whoosh around the living area before guests arrive. I’ve often wondered though whether it was money worth spending and couldn’t really justify the expense when I had one perfectly adequate vacuum cleaner in my home already.
I was gifted this Electrolux Ergorapido for reviewing purposes. I don’t know that I’ve ever been so excited to unbundle a courier delivery. I definitely have never been so excited to clean. And now you will find my kids fighting over who gets to use it – my five year old son asking most days after school if he can vacuum. And my two year old happily sucking up his spilled crumbs without me even asking him to. I mean, seriously…. the spend would be worth it just to raise boys that wants to help out around the house!
It’s a simple device, it sucks up stuff. But it does it so effortlessly. The swivel is ridiculous – it took me a few minutes to get used to that maneuverability. It has LED lights that show me all the little bits I’m missing just ahead and the handle is easy to hold as the head effortlessly glides across the floor – wooden, carpet or tiles. It hooks onto it’s own stand to charge and when fully charged gives just over 20 minutes of vac time. You can buy extra attachments for it which I may need to do as my only complaint about this little beauty is that it doesn’t get close enough into the corners like I can with a crevice tool on my big beast.
This is a 2-in-1 unit which is so handy. Having a removable hand-held mini-vacuum makes cleaning up spilled popcorn in the car a breeze (yes, I’m looking at you Aston!).
It’s super easy to empty and there are two speed settings which mean I can vacuum at a lower setting if I’m worried about disturbing my two year old’s nap or someone is on the phone (or the kids are watching a movie and don’t want to hear me roaring past on my vac stick!). The Ergorapido is self-standing which I love if i need to stop for a moment to check Instagram or give my babes a cuddle. And because it’s a super sleek design, this fits underneath my low-lying cabinets, buffet and bed where my bulky Shark will never get under!
Bottom line… now that I have one, I would absolutely spend money on this Ergorapido. This is the vacuum that has changed my life. Vacuuming is so much easier and my floors consistently so much cleaner!
