Anyone else have a small children who just don’t understand the importance of or value in spending 2 minutes morning and night brushing teeth? I mean all mine will happily trudge to the bathroom for the routine, but a quick stab in the mouth with the toothbrush to all four corners, a speedy scrape across the front jaws, spit and yup, we’re done!
Uhhhhhhh not quite boys!
The new Sonicare Kids App has been designed to help Kiwi Kids form integral and life-long habits. It’s often too easy to dismiss gaming and apps and anything related to screens as something anti-social, instead of recognising the value they can add to the family home.
In this case, the Philips’ Sonicare Kids app works alongside the Kids Connected Toothbrush via bluetooth and encourages kids to brush their teeth with Sparkly – a cute and fluffy purple character – getting them to school faster in the morning and to bed faster at night.
Since introducing the new Sonicare app and toothbrush to my kids routine, I can find Beau in the bathroom multiple times a day just ‘brushing his teeth’ because suddenly he’s so into it! And Aston no longer asks us to brush his teeth morning and night (although the recommended age of around seven remains when it comes to parental assistance for night time brushing).
The app syncs via bluetooth to the toothbrush and is suitable for ages 3 and up. It contains a built in timer so you can be sure your kids are brushing their teeth for the correct amount of time – thus getting them in the habit of how long two minutes actually is. Sparkly can be personalised, the toothbrush can be decorated with cute enclosed sticker embellishments and they earn gifts and points for each great toothbrushing session.
